Former Dental Hygienist Shares Animal Calls, Fairytale Life
By Amy Kishaha, Long Beach, CA, June 14, 2005

Long Beach, CA - - June 14, 2005 - Emmy nominated Mindy Burbano Stearns will be the keynote speaker at the Long Beach Yacht Club on Thursday, June 16 from Noon to 2pm.  She will share highlights from her career covering the world of entertainment for KTLA's award-winning "News at Ten", "KTLA Morning News", and her recent marriage to real estate mogul, Glenn Stearns.  Discovered by Oprah Winfrey while making animal calls as an audience member, Mindy found herself on the fast track in the entertainment industry, leaving what she thought was a lifetime career as a dental hygienist.

The event will also recognize the contributions of noted individuals and service organizations during the 73 year history of the Children's Dental Health Clinic (CDHC), a 501 (c) (3) non-profit.

After 35 years in the same location, in Fall 2005 the CDHC is moving to a new facility on the campus of Long Beach Memorial Medical Center / Miller Children’s Hospital due to state-mandated hospital renovations.   Proceeds from this event will be donated to the Children’s Dental Health Clinic to help defray the cost of treating low-income and disadvantaged children.

For reservations or more information, please call (562) 933-2501.

The Children’s Dental Health Clinic provides quality dental care to children of low-income families - services that would not otherwise be available to these infants, children, adolescents and persons with disabilities. The CDHC is dedicated to providing specialty and general dental treatment along with oral hygiene education to children from economically disadvantaged families in the Long Beach area. www.cdhc.org
