After that fateful show where Oprah nicknamed her
"The Rooster Lady", Mindy immediately began receiving requests from radio stations
across the US to demonstrate her voice work. Over two hundred radio appearances later
and a producer who took a risk on raw talent, Mindy was hired to host the highly
rated Saginaw, Michigan radio program called "Mike & Mindy in the Morning."
Within six months, Mindy changed addresses again, this time to be on Hollywood's red carpet
reporting for television's Entertainment Tonight.
The Emmy nominated Burbano has made a successful career covering the
world of entertainment for KTLA's award-winning "News at Ten", and the "KTLA
Morning News" for six years. She remains loyal to her animal roots,
as she was recently seen on "VH-1 Celebrity Pets I and II."
Mindy has also
appeared on "Live With Regis and Kathie Lee," and "The Jamie Kennedy
Experiment" and taken on acting roles in "Sabrina the Teenage Witch,"
and "7th Heaven". Among films like "Dickie Roberts; Former Child Star,"
and numerous independent film projects, Mindy also appeared in the popular
Disney film "The Princess Diaries", a part that Director Gary Marshall
wrote specifically for her.
Those who thought her Oprah appearance a "one hit wonder" continue to
be surprised. Mindy has now appeared six times on "The Oprah Winfrey
Show," as one of Oprah's "favorite guests", "The Best of Oprah",
"Rags to Riches", and was most recently featured in a segment that
followed her life with an exclusive look into her fairly tale marriage to Real Estate Mogul,
Glenn Stearns. The wedding was featured on "The Oprah Winfrey Show", and in
the pages of "In Touch," "Rivieria," and "Orange Coast"
magazines, and donned the cover of "Inside Weddings" magazine.
Mindy's unconventional upbringing may have been the guiding force that
landed her where she is today. A native of Forest Grove, Oregon,
Mindy's parents encouraged her to express her passions at a young age. She
remembers making her first animal noises at the age of six. Instead of
dressing dolls, Mindy was playing sports with the boys and became the
first female to play on her high school boy's varsity baseball team. Mindy's
passion and skill for baseball grabbed the attention of ICM president
Jack Gillardi who invited her to play in the annual Hollywood Stars
Baseball game at Dodger Stadium on three separate occasions. Mindy became the first
female in 45 years to actually play in the game which was the closest thing to
fulfilling Mindy's childhood dream of being the first female to play
Major League Baseball.. Though her dental career was short-lived, Mindy,
whose father and brother are dentists, brings a love for dental hygiene into
her daily repertoire by proselytizing flossing and donning out engraved
toothbrushes as business cards.
